MANAGED SERVICES
Our products and projects support all standard internet technologies and even their more unusual counterparts – no ifs, no buts. Our dedicated team takes care of everything from the provision of servers, the OS, or databases, through to consultancy, operation, and 24/7 service
– for Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and/or the Google Cloud Platform. Every customer is assigned a dedicated support team of system architects and system engineers, as well as their own service manager to act as a personal point of contact. We can also agree custom service levels with individual customers

Application Management
Our delivery teams manage all phases of cloud transformation projects. We plan, develop, and operate new business IT infrastructure and cross-cloud architectures. We not only offer 24*7 services for cloud operations, managed services, and hybrid hosting, but also take care of application management for all internet and big data applications. Our approach is vendor-agnostic; we seek out best-of-breed solutions from public cloud providers AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure – on-premises in data centers, we work with providers such as e-shelter and Equinix, or use the customer’s own infrastructure.
For *um, bimodal application management means:
- One service desk: Operating across infrastructures, seamlessly integrated, including cross-platform monitoring
- Support for the full internet technology stack and all relevant software
- Project management processes based on DevOps, scrum, Kanban, or ITIL
- Delivery teams assume end-to-end responsibility, from architecture to transition operation and change
Data Thinking: A guide to success in the digital age
Full-Stack Operations
As pioneers in the German market, we’ve been developing and operating cloud solutions since 2008. We work with private, hybrid, and public cloud environments, hosted either in our own data center space with e-shelter or Equinix, on-premises at our customer’s site, or with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or the Google Cloud Platform. Thanks to our many years of experience and our comprehensive portfolio, *um is one of just a handful of HPE’s global Cloud Agile Partners. Crisp Research also named us as the leading ‘Managed Public Cloud Provider 2018’, and as a leading company in the field of ‘Data Analytics Services & Solutions’.
24*7 operation of databases and operating systems on high-performance cloud computing infrastructure with *um:
- Cloud computing combined with traditional hosting and support services
- Advice, design, transition, implementation, operation, and 24*7 service
- Scaled, completely custom cloud projects
- ISO 27001, IT-Grundschutz (basic IT protection standard), and PCI-DSS Level 1 certified environments
Agile Processes
DevOps is a key concept in our current understanding of agile processes. DevOps is a collaborative approach in which development and IT join forces to drive organizational and process improvement in the areas of development (Dev) and operations (Ops). The term ‘DevOps’ was first used at a conference in Belgium in 2009. Conceived as a new way to improve agility, it has since become one of the most hotly discussed topics in the ongoing search for the best ways of working. Many large companies now pursue a DevOps strategy.
DevOps is a holistic concept involving systematic thinking that places the focus on the big picture. It therefore not only serves to optimize processes, but also promotes understanding and mutual appreciation between individual disciplines by making employees a crucial factor of the philosophy. The method uses feedback loops to accelerate exchange and feedback between the parties involved, creating a culture of continuous experimentation and failure which, in turn, improves the loops and enables companies to respond faster when mistakes have been made. The end result of this process is an accelerated release cycle that delivers higher quality output, combined with more effective communication and collaboration.
