*um at Mongo Munich conference

19. October 2011 von Sandro Grundmann

Last week *um participated at the MongoDB conference in Munich. This event is held yearly by the vendor 10gen (http://www.10gen.com) and is the key event for the German speaking MongoDB community. Sandro Grundmann as a System Architect Web Operations at *um gave a speech with the title “Learning by doing – running a MongoDB, the hard way”. The talk was about our experience in operating MongoDB within production environments. *um is currently running MongoDB in serveral projects in live operation.

The whole NoSQL world is quite young, exciting and versatile. It has the power to influence the classical LAMP stack tremendously. Maybe NoSQL will become able to replace relational databases in wide aspects.
